The Greenhouse

There is so much useful information available publicly. But unless you know about it already, it’s usually very hard to find. That’s why we’re building The Greenhouse – a place where you can find information, and where ideas can grow.

Within the Greenhouse are different hubs. Each one looks at a different topic – though some may interlink with each other.

Advance care planning hub

Advance care planning is a tool we can use to talk about what, who, and where is important to us, and how we want to maintain those relationships if we become very unwell.

Want to find out more about advance care planning, including accessing free resources, booklets, and our Talking for England guide?

End of life care hub

The end of life can be one of the most fragile times we’ll experience. Whether it’s the end of your own life, the end of a loved one’s, it can be difficult to know what to expect and who can help.

Our hub brings together useful videos and guides all about the end of life, and death.

Dementias hub

There are lots of different dementias. Alzheimer’s, dementia with Lewy bodies, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia etc. Each one is different, and navigating a journey with dementia can be difficult and emotional.

We’re pulling together information from lots of different organisations and our experience.

Parkinsonisms hub

Living with a parkinsonism, such as Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, progressive supranuclear palsy, motor neurone disease etc, can have a huge impact on every part of our daily living.

Our hub will pull together lots of useful information, and signpost you to services and resources you may find helpful.

Carers’ support hub

Being an unpaid carer can be incredibly fulfilling, but it can also take its toll on our wellbeing. Some carers report feeling lonely and not listened to, or simply don’t know where to turn for help.

Our hub will be able to signpost you to effective, responsive services and support groups that you can access.

Rare diseases hub

Being diagnosed with a rare disease can mean that we can’t find out much about it online. Whilst our rare diseases hub won’t be able to find information about all rare diseases, it will be able to signpost you to places you can look – including organisations that specialise in support people living with a rare disease.

Bereavement & grief hub

Loss can take many forms, as can grief. Every grief journey is unique; not just to the person navigating it, but to the loss they’re experiencing.

We’re proud to be working on our Bereavement & grief hub with our work experience student, Charley, from Exeter College.

Others…

Are there any other hubs you’d like to see us make for The Greenhouse?
