Work experience at Teign Angels
Studying a health & social care qualification, and need a work experience placement? Want to experience working in adult social care and/or office administration for your Year 10 work experience week?
We welcome work experience students. We work with local schools and colleges to place students on work experience with us, and we treat them as one of our team.

Your week might include:
Learning and development
We deliver our learning, development, and training programme in-house. It’s led by Sophia, who holds full Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and is supported by Joseph, who has a lot of experience in mentoring and training people from Year 8 right up to Level 6 undergraduates.
As standard, we will train you in:
- Health and safety (including fire safety)
- Safeguarding vulnerable adults and children
- Information governance and data security
Depending on your interests, we can also deliver training in other subjects too, such as:
- Moving and handling objects
- Introduction to advance care planning
- Dementia awareness
- Mental capacity
- Scam awareness
First-hand experience
Your week will primarily be made up of first-hand experience. You’ll be accompanied by one of our team at all times, but you’ll get the chance to complete some tasks independently. For example, you might have a go at rostering our team for a week, or you might help to get someone’s breakfast ready etc.
There are some things you won’t be able to do, as our insurance won’t allow it. But we will talk to you about what you can and can’t do whilst on your placement with us.
Workplace project
If you have an idea for something that could be a great use in adult social care, or if there’s something you come across that you’d really like to find out more about, why not complete a workplace project with us? We can set aside time for you to do some research in our office, then towards the end of your placement, you can present your findings to us!
Like the idea of the workplace project, but can’t think of something to research? We can help you find a topic you might like to look into – we’ve each got our own personal interests within adult social care!
