Today marks our final day of being able to access our previous care management software, iCareHealth. For 8 years, it’s kept us on track, helping us to co-ordinate care for nearly hundreds of people across Teignbridge.

We’ve finished exporting the information we need – nearly 3,000 pages worth of it, all stored on a back-up hard drive! – and we’ve fought with Avast’s firewall for the final time to allow us to access the system. And now, we’re saying good bye to what has been a part of the bedrock of Teign Angels since the start.

‘I think Dawn and I are more emotional about losing iCareHealth than anyone else would be – they’d probably think we’re just silly! I was sat here with genuine tears in my ears as I closed it down for the final time! We’ve used this system for decades across previous jobs and workplaces, so we know it inside out. We’ve gotten it to perform some utter miracles in the past! It’s sad to see it go, it really is’ says Joseph.

What’s next?

As we say good bye to one care management software, we say hello to another. In January 2025, we moved across to using our new care management software, CareLineLive, for our rotas and visit lists. And since then, we’ve been moving more and more functions across to it.

‘There were certainly a lot of changes that we had to get used to – as we would’ve had to do with whichever system we moved to. But it’s fairly straight-forward to use, and it’s really nice that you can contact the support team online, directly from the software itself! And because we access it from an Internet browser, we don’t need to fight with Avast’s firewall every time we want to log on!’ Joseph continues.

‘We’re looking forward to fully exploring every nook and cranny of CareLineLive – and putting it through its paces as we have with iCareHealth! So far, so good!’
